Desert Spring Church has enjoyed a long relationship with Spread the Word Nevada.

Here is Spread the Word Nevada’s end of school year report card.

In the 2020-2021 school year, we:

• Served more than 48,983 students and distributed 415,319 books.
• Adopted 3 elementary schools and all their students received books regularly to build their home libraries.
• Produced 103 virtual live sessions and 32 recorded stories for Breakfast and Snack Time with Books that reached the homes of thousands of children.
• Had 977 amazing volunteers contribute over 8,700 hours to our mission.
• Hosted 5 blood drives with the American Red Cross that collected 121 units of blood which helped potentially save 363 lives.
• Got a new truck thanks to our wonderful friends at the Bennett Family Foundation, Southwest Gas and Findlay Automotive Group. Our previous truck was on its last “legs”, so we are excited to drive our new wheels around town delivering thousands of books to kiddos in need!

With your help, we have accomplished a lot this year despite COVID-19. However, our work doesn’t stop here. There are countless students whose education has been severely impacted by the pandemic and with the threat of summer learning loss, our kids need us now more than ever.
