Desert Spring Church Reopening Plan

June 22, 2020

The following plan is based upon the best information we have at this time. As new information becomes available, the reopening plan will be revised as needed. These guidelines are intended for Desert Spring and Desert Spring related ministries. Outside users of the facilities will be allowed to return upon entering into phase 3 of the document, when groups sizes are not limited and when mask are encouraged but not required.

1. Core values that guide our decisions

a. Do no harm. Our decisions are based upon our best understanding of what it means to do no harm to members and constituents of the church.

b. All means all. In our church, we welcome all people to participate fully. In this unprecedented time, all means all takes on new meaning: all of us are welcome to worship. Until such time as the limitations of the size of gatherings have been eased, Desert Spring will not gather for public worship.

c. Outwardly looking. We know that the decisions Desert Spring makes not only impact the people of Desert Spring, they also impact the greater community. In order to be a responsible part of our greater community, Desert Spring will implement reopening plans within the confines of the Governor’s directives along with the directives of our Bishop.

What follows is our plan for reopening based upon these core values and our understanding of the directives of our Governor and Bishop.
