An alphabetical listing of ministries, volunteer opportunities, and a short description of each opportunity.

ART FELLOWSHIP GUILD

Provide artwork for display – Displaying their original artwork at church

Art installation – Assist in hanging artwork.

ADULT EDUCATION MINISTRIES

Community Group Facilitator – Facilitate small groups in navigating curriculum in a 4 to 6-week all-church study.

Community Group Host – Open home up for a group to gather for a 4 to 6-week study.

Discipleship study leader for new members – Lead a 6-week study for new members who want to learn/understand more about Methodism.

AUDIO/VISUAL

Sound booth – Assist with (audio/video/slides) for Sunday morning worship

Special events tech – Provide A/V support for special events/groups either in the MPR or sanctuary.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES

Family Ministries

Mom’s group leader – Help plan activities and meetings for a mom’s support group.

Special events planning team – Help in planning, preparation, and leading both family, all church, and neighborhood outreach events geared towards families with children.

Vacation Bible School – Help in planning, preparation, and leading a one-week VBS program in the summer.

Sunday Morning Ministries

Sunday school lesson & classroom prep – Put materials together, bulletin boards, set up classrooms.

Sunday school teacher (k-5) – Help with planning and leading Sunday school lessons on Sunday mornings.

Sunday school teacher’s assistant/guide (k-5) – Assist Sunday school teachers with classroom management and child inclusion.

Substitute Sunday school teacher/assistant (k-5) – Be available as an on-call substitute for planned and/or unplanned teacher vacations.

Early childhood teacher/assistant – Providing supervision and leading lessons for little ones.

CLERICAL SUPPORT MINISTRIES

Attendance recorder – Enter attendance on Sunday afternoons after worship.

Data Entry – Inputting forms, sign-ups, class rosters etc.

General administrative assistance – Copies, filing, project organization, etc.

COMMUNICATIONS MINISTRIES

Pew stocking – Restock and organize the pew materials during the week for Sunday morning worship.

Bulletin folding – Folding bulletins on Thursday mornings.

Photography – Taking pictures on Sunday mornings and at special church events for the website, social media, and church history recording.

Content writer/proofreader/assistant – Help create and proofread content for ministries.

Registration pads – Refilling, cleaning and monitoring supply levels for the Sunday morning registration pads.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE MINISTRIES

Prayer Ministries

Prayer Team – Meet once a week to pray over confidential prayer cards.

Text Prayer – Pray for requests received via text.

Prayer Chain – Assist in sending out prayer requests via email.

Visitation

Homebound – Visit home bound church members who are not able to leave their home on a regular basis.

Hospital Visits – Visit church members in the hospital.

Nurture

Meals – Prepare meals for families needing assistance due to an illness, death, or crisis.

GriefShare

Group facilitator – A leader will facilitate small group discussion.

Substitute facilitator – Fill in for group facilitator when needed.

Steven Ministry Caregiver – Providing one-on-one, Christ-centered care to those who are struggling.

CONNECTING MINISTRIES

Connection Center assistant Sunday morning – Provide information and materials for visitors, and church members looking to connect with a ministry, sign up for a class, schedule a meeting, etc.

New Member Shepherd – Support new members in connecting and finding their place in the church.

Pew Section Leader – Pay attention to “regulars” who have been missing, new folks, and any noteworthy information from the folks in the area surrounding where you sit.

FACILITIES MAINTENANCE MINISTRIES

Maintenance team – Assist facilities manager in maintenance and minor repairs.

Setup team – Set up tables and chairs for special events.

FINANCIAL SERVICES MINISTRIES

Sunday morning count team – Count and process Sunday morning offerings.

HOSPITALITY

Door greeter – Monthly Greeters: everyone who walks into our church.

Parking lot greeter – Welcome folks from the parking lot and direct them to the sanctuary.

Usher team – Hand out bulletins and attendance pads, count worshippers, assist with mobility-challenged attendees.

Golf Cart team – Driving Golf carts to help attendees from cars to the front door of the church on Sunday mornings.

LEADERSHIP

MUSIC

Choir singer – Rehearse on Thursday evenings and play with the choir during Sunday morning and special worship services.

Bell ringer – Rehearse on Thursday evenings and play with the bell choir during Sunday morning and special worship services.

ONLINE MINISTRIES

Online worship Host – Welcoming, praying, and chatting with our online worshippers.

Community group or study facilitator – Facilitate online groups and studies via Zoom.

OUTREACH

Family Promise/Just Neighbors

Shop for families moving out of homelessness – Helping families move from homeless to permanent housing, providing food and household necessities to families in the program.

Desert Spring Resource Center

Community Resource Center advocate – Support/assist neighbors navigate resources.

Clerical support – Administrative Support, Organizing, Writing reports.

Food pantry Donation – pickup and pantry restocking.

Food distribution – Distribute food from the parking lot.

Prison Ministry

Bible study, support ready for release inmates, mentoring, resources.  This is an emerging ministry and we look forward to seeing what God has in store for it.

SAFETY

Campus security (for events) – Patrol campus and parking lot for events geared towards children and youth.

Disaster preparedness team – Help prepare for medical, security, natural, and crisis disasters.

SPECIAL EVENTS MINISTRIES

Special event meal preparation – Prepare food for special events.

Special event server – Serve food for special events.

Special event setup/cleanup – Set-up and clean-up before and after special events.

WORSHIP

Communion (elements) prep – Cutting communion bread prior to Sunday mornings.

Communion server – Serving communion for Sunday worship one time per/month.

Banner team – Changing out banners in the sanctuary according to the liturgical calendar.

Liturgist – Read scripture and pray for Sunday morning worship services.

YOUTH MINISTRIES

Sunday school teacher – Assisting to teach jr. high or sr. high Sunday school.

Supervision & assistance for youth group – Serve meals, clean up after meals and be another adult in the room during youth activities.

Provide meals – Providing lunch for our youth and volunteers.

OTHER
