  • Prayer labyrinth walk

    tuesday, september 25, 9:30am - 11:00am

    potosi pines camp

A labyrinth is a path which leads, via a circuitous route, to the center of an intricate design and back out again. A labyrinth’s route is unicursal; that is, it has only a single path. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth is designed for ease of navigation, and it is impossible to get lost within one.

A prayer labyrinth is a labyrinth used to facilitate prayer, meditation and spiritual transformation.

Potosi Pines United Methodist Camp and Retreat Center has a wonderful prayer labyrinth on their grounds. The Camp is located at 10910 Mount Potosi Canyon Road. The camp is 1.5 miles up Potosi Canyon Road from Highway 160, just past the 19 mile marker.

It is a dirt road from the highway up to the camp. The road is graded, but may be rough depending on recent rain.

If you prefer not to drive, we will meet at the Blue Diamond Travel Center at 9:00am. 12325 Nevada Highway 160, where the road to Red Rock Canyon intersects Highway 160.

The camp us 10 - 15 degrees cooler than the valley, and the scenery is spectacular.

No RSVP is necessary for this event.

Nevadans for the Common Good (NCG) is an organization comprised of churches, synagogues, mosques, nonprofits and other community institutions. We are building relational power for collective action in the pursuit of justice and the common good.

At this event, you are invited to meet with local, state and federal candidates just before the election.

NCG conducted listening sessions last fall. Many members shared stories that affected themselves or people they cared about here in Nevada and Clark County. The top concerns voiced were education, mental heath, healthcare and health insurance.

The Summerlin Cluster is addressing safety issues in the greater Summerlin area: school zone safety, speeding and student crosswalks, crime and drug dealing in our parks.

We invite you to work with us in addressing these issues that are our initiatives for the next 18 months. Want to get a little involved? Share your ideas or concerns. Want to assist in achieving solutions for bigger problems? Volunteer to be on one of the issue teams.

No RSVP is needed for this event.
