The Angel Tree is a tradition at Desert Spring. Our goal has always been to give Christmas gifts to children whose families need assistance. But this year will be a little different. Staffing changes with our former partner, Head Start, have resulted in Desert Spring needing a new Angel Tree partner. We are pleased to announce that this year’s partner is Help of Southern Nevada.
Help of Southern Nevada has a wonderful way to distribute the gifts to children in need. All donated gifts are displayed, and parents are invited to “shop” for the gifts their children will enjoy. It’s a great way to ensure the gifts are personal to the children.
The Angel Tree will be in the Sanctuary lobby Sunday, Dec. 1 – Sunday, Dec. 8 and will have tags with gift suggestions written on them. The gift suggestions come from Desert Spring Church Sunday School children, who were asked to help create gift lists for this project.
Please choose a tag on Sunday, Dec 1 or Sunday, Dec. 8 and return your UNWRAPPED gifts in the clear plastic bags provided by 12:00pm on Sunday, December 15 for sorting, organizing and delivery to Help of Southern Nevada.

The mission of Family Promise of Las Vegas is to offer homeless families the opportunity to achieve housing stability by providing short term shelter, meals, case management and hospitality.
Family Promise is a cooperative effort that addresses the needs of homeless families by utilizing resources within local congregations and the community. Families in our program receive a full complement of resources and training as they work towards their own independence and self-sufficiency.
Desert Spring Church is a host congregation for Family Promise.
Families entering the program first stay as the guests of congregations throughout Las Vegas. These houses of faith open their doors to provide a bed for the evening, a warm supper and cold breakfast/lunch, and the hospitality of a loving community.
Desert Spring Church hosts homeless families in Las Vegas 3 - 4 times per year.

The Messengers ministry was born out of a desire to provide meaningful worship for residents of assisted living facilities who would otherwise be unable to attend worship.
At present we have teams serving two different assisted living facilities:
The Atria Team led by Wayne Williams on the 1st & 3rd Sundays
The Pacifica Team led by Carolyn Wood each Sunday
Periodically, our Youth Group participates in these services and the residents particularly love it when they are there.
We ask for your prayers around this ministry, both for those who lead and for those who participate.
If you would like to join in this special service opportunity, please fill out a form HERE.
Thanks to the many people who have contributed to Ronald McDonald House by bringing your aluminum tabs to the church. 2018 was a record year for us.!
A total of 23 gallons of tabs were delivered to the House for the year. 117 gallons of tabs were donated during the past 8 years.
Please continue to support Ronald McDonald House by bringing your tabs to the kiosk at the entrance to the Multi-Purpose Room. If you place them on a desk in the office, they will be taken care of, however the small Ronald McDonald cardboard house is sitting on the kiosk and handy. Small amounts do add up. Thank you!
The Desert Spring Mission team is assisting Street Teens with donations of needed items.
Street Teens helps homeless & disadvantaged youth between the ages of 12 and 21. They provide a hot evening meal, shower and laundry facilities, and a safe compassionate environment each evening.
United Methodist Women's Ruth Circle has supported Street Teens with financial contributions each month.
However, they still need these items:
Canned & Boxed Nonperishable Food Items
You can bring your donation to the church and place it in the donation bin inside the Multi-Purpose Room lobby. Thank you!
