  • a musical journey through the ages

taylor see & voltaire verzosa in concert

    sunday, august 19, 3:00pm

Please join us on Sunday, August 19th at 3pm for an afternoon of baroque, classical, romantic, and contemporary music, “a little bit of everything", before Taylor heads back to the City by the Bay for her junior year at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

Taylor and her fabulous accompanist, Voltaire Verzosa, pianist for The Las Vegas Philharmonic will perform works by G.F. Handel, Robert Schumann, W. A. Mozart, Jules Massenet, and a lot of Leonard Bernstein, as it’s his 100th Birthday Celebration.

Admission is FREE, and donations are always greatly appreciated.

  • Chancel choir

Chancel Choir continues to grow and learn to share God's Word through music for both the 8:00am and 9:30am worship services.

Desert Spring has been blessed with a deep well of talent - some of it sitting undiscovered in the congregation. We welcome new singers!

We strive to present a variety of types of music, incorporating soloists, small groups and instrumentation as much as possible. In addition, every effort is made to coordinate the music with Pastor’s sermon topic.

We rehearse on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm – 8:40 pm in the Sanctuary.

We have two Choir Clinics each year. One is held prior to Easter where new music for Lent and Easter is presented and study begun. One is held prior to Advent, Christmas, and our "Toe Tappin' Into Fall" concert. These clinics are invaluable as we spend approximately 4 hours during each Clinic in rehearsal.

  • praise band

The Praise Band leads worship at the 11:00am contemporary service each week. Vocalists are supported by a variety of electric and acoustic instruments and percussion.

Band rehearsal is held at 6:30pm on Thursday evening.

Please fill out a form HERE for more information on joining the praise band.

  • orchestra

Desert Spring  hosts orchestra musicians who support choral music for special events and special worship services, such as Easter and Christmas Eve.

  • mellowtones big band

Mellowtones are Desert Spring's own big band. Mellowtones perform at special events at the church and across the valley.

Mellowtones also provide music in the traditional services, either en masse or as smaller sections to augment anthems and hymns.

One of our favorite Sundays of the year is Big Band Sunday when the full band joins us for our traditional worship services.

Mellowtones rehearse at 7:00pm Thursday evenings, except during the summer months.

  • Handbells

The Handbell musicians enrich our traditional worship services regularly. Handbells are always looking for new ringers, and add new octaves to their range regularly.

They meet Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm - 7:30pm. You are always welcome.
