  • Pastor's Bible Study

    Wednesdays, 7pm or Thursdays, 10am

    "human sexuality" workshop

    wednesday, june 19 or thursday, june 20

    Human Sexuality Workshop - Join us for a discussion around what the bible says about human sexuality. 

    How do we make sense of the Bible passages that talk about homosexuality? Are they timeless truths, or culturally specific? Do they even talk about the same thing we are talking about? What has medical science learned about the development of human sexuality?

    There will be no class on:

    June 12 & June 13

    June 26 & June 27 through July 17 & July 18

    This class is repeated twice a week - Wednesday night at 7:00pm, and Thursday morning at 10:00am -  pick your most convenient day & time and come on down! 

    No registration is required to join. Join us anytime! 

    Child care is available for the Wednesday evening class.

    GLOBALLY - United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members. Members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

    LOCALLY - Desert Spring UMW members share in a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ. 

    Circle Meeting Times & Locations:

    Ruth Circle - meets the second Sunday of each month at 1:00pm. Their mission focus is "Street Teens" which provides necessities for teens who do not live at home.

    Deborah Circle - meets the second Wednesday of each month at 9:30am. Their mission focus is "The Walter Hoving Home for Women" which meets the needs of women transitioning from incarceration.

    Serendipity Circle - meets the third Thursday of each month at 10:00am. Their mission focus is "The Wesley Community and Health Center" which is a United Methodist Women Mission Ministry.

    Membership in United Methodist Women is open to all women who are committed to mission. 

  • United Methodist Men

    “Thirst in the Desert”, your local charter of United Methodist Men (UMM), is an active group of men striving to be better Brothers in Christ. We are a small group but have evolved into a group of men that feel we can trust each other to discuss anything on our minds in a caring and supportive atmosphere.

    We are looking forward to supporting mission projects, hosting several retreat opportunities for men each year, and serving our church in the parking lot ministry.

    We welcome any and all men to join us at our Men’s Breakfast on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 8:00am.

    The Women's Spiritual Growth Group is an ongoing group that you can join anytime. 

    We meet on Wednesdays from 10:00am – 11:30am. Please join us!

    Our current study is, “The Way, Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus” by Adam Hamilton. 

    Travel with Adam Hamilton as he retraces the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Adam Hamilton approaches his subject matter with thoughtfulness and wisdom, just as he did with Jesus’ crucifixion in 24 Hours That Changed the World and with Jesus’ birth in The Journey.

    There are plenty of books for everyone.

    2nd Thursday of each month @ 11:30am

    Join our Book Club on the second Thursday of each month at 11:30am in Room 3, to discuss our book of the month, and enjoy fellowship & prayer. Bring a brown bag lunch if you would like!

    Our next meeting is Thursday, April 11, and we will discuss, "A Life Intercepted" by Charles Martin.
