February's book is:
"Can't Wait to Get to Heaven" by Fannie Flagg.
Fannie takes readers backk to Elmwood Springs, Missouri, where the most unlikely and surprising experiences happen to an "octogenarian". These things inspire the town to ponder the question, "Why are we here?"
This book is filled with southern warmth and emotion, and a side-splitting hilarity. It's a comedy-mystery that you won't want to miss!
Join us for Book Club on Thursday, February 8 at 11:30am as we eat our brown bag lunches and discuss this heart warming book.

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members. UMW was formed in 1869 by eight women in Boston. Their first mission was to send an educator and doctor to India. Members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.
Our Desert Spring UMW members share in a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ. We support the United Methodist Women's vision of "Turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world."

The leader is Brian Kern. Brian, his wife LaToria and son Tristan are relatively new members of Desert Spring Church. Brian possesses a varied background in Christian leadership having been ordained as a Deacon in a Baptist Church and also serving as Chairperson of a United Methodist Church Council, where he also occasionally delivered sermons.
While serving as the leader, Brian readily acknowledges the true class leader is the Holy Spirit. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge and experiences; but more importantly, learning from the knowledge and experiences of fellow class members.
“Thirst in the Desert”, your local charter of United Methodist Men, is an active group of men striving to be better Brothers in Christ. We are a small group but have evolved into a group of men that feel we can trust each other to discuss anything on our minds in a caring and supportive atmosphere.
We are looking forward to supporting mission projects, hosting several retreat opportunities for men each year, and serving our church in the parking lot ministry.
We welcome any and all men to join us at our Men’s Breakfast on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 8:00am.
You can reach us via e-mail at email@example.com
